A nation’s greatest assets are its men and women of vision. They did not close their mind when they closed their books, upon completing their formal education. They had reached a new frontier beyond which they could not explore, without the aid of their imagination.
Imagination is the creative part of your personality. Most people use this valuable mental tool that we have been gifted with, when it is used at all, for idle day dreaming or wishing.
It is strongly recommended that you begin to use your imagination properly.
Imagination is a mental faculty out of which visions arise. It deals with the ‘might be’ elements in your life. It is used by every person who contemplates their present condition with a desire to improve it. It pictures an idea toward which to work.
James Allan wrote the following in his classic As A Man Thinketh:
“Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so you shall become. Your vision is the promise of what you shall one day be; your ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil.”
The greatest achievement was at first, and for a time, a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn; the bird waits in the egg; and in the highest vision of the soul, a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities.
Your circumstances may be uncongenial, but they shall not long remain so, if you but perceive an ideal and strive to reach it.
“You cannot travel within, and stand still without.”
Realize that the most beautiful picture, which keeps coming to the surface of your mind, can be turned into a physical reality. If you can hold it in your mind you can hold it in your hand.
